At the mere foundation, I seem to associate smoking with sex. Visually, watching an attractive woman smoke is an extreme turn on for me. The act of simply holding it, bringing it up to her lips, the confidence projected, etc, etc (all the typical stuff most if not all smoking fetishists enjoy).

However in general, I dislike smoking. I specifically dislike the smell of the smoke and other stale smells associated with the habit. And of course, the unhealthy aspect of it is also a turn off as well. Because the negative points about smoking can be stemmed from the smoke, this direct association with the "smelly poison" if you will causes me to dislike that part. Lots of cognitive dissonance here as you can see.

Now, if smoking weren't unhealthy and the smoke didn't have an unpleasent smell, then I don't think I would have any aversion to it. I guess by disliking the smoke itself, I can justify my fetish because I can narrow down all the negative parts to the smoke. This is why I seem to be just fine with my girlfriend mock smoking with an unlit cigarette. I still get the visual display that turns me on, minus the negative parts I don't like anyway.

Of course, there is an aspect of it all that would be more fulfilling if she were smoking for real. As many of you probably agree, the act of a woman indulging herself and deriving pleasure from smoking is a turn on too (plus the badgirl/promiscuous part of it all is great). So I am left with a little emptiness there since all I am getting is an act. Mock smoking is still extremely enjoyable for me, but obviously not the 100% real thing.
