What a coincidence! I discovered the fetish sites in May 97 too! That was my first time surfing the web as well. I never thought of my attraction to women who smoke a fetish either, although an old girlfriend of mine told me that's what I had. In fact, I don't even like the term, "fetish".
I discovered this world on a whim. I had been browsing the internet all day long, (since it was my first time), and never thought to look up anything about women smoking until the end of the night. I went to Yahoo and typed, "women who smoke". I figured at best I would come up with some pictures of women smoking on some health-beat sites. I never could've imagined what was next. I don't exactly remember what was the first site I went to but it was either VSI or Co-Light. I also went to The Lighthouse.
Things sure have changed since then. I miss many of those old sites such as Archtander's Archive (SP) and many pictures that I can't seem to find anymore. But I'm not sure I'm happier as a person noing that there are others like me. At first I was, that's for sure! But now I miss the days before I knew. It's like the innocence of it all has been lost. Sold out, if you will. I don't want to sound snobby but I felt a little more unique. I had a feeling that I wasn't the only one. In fact, I somehow knew it.
Now I don't surf these pages quite as often as I used to. I really miss the old message board, before it was brought to Smoke Signals. There were so many people posting. There were many posting after it moved too but has steadily declined. One reason is that now there's a message board for every little thing about the fetish. I'm not sure if that was a good idea. I'm sure that there are more lurking folks than posting folks. I know over the years I have lurked more than posted. Plus, when I did post, I used different aliases too.

We shall see where all this goes in the future!
