After just shy of 5 years running the Visualsmoke member area, and 10 years in the biz altogether, it’s time to call it a day. It was a difficult decision, with many contributing factors leading up to it. But, there was one main reason: Difficultly finding new models. Maybe it’s just the Seattle area, with memories of Ted Bundy and the Green River Killer still in the back of peoples mind, I don’t know. I’ve never in my life encountered a bigger bunch of flakes than with potential models. And a few I did use. Here’s an example. Jade. A terrific smoker, and an equally terrific flake! Her first shoot was on a Sunday. Call time 3PM, no later than 5 she was told. I spent noon until 3 setting up. At 5 she called. Said she was on her way. (She lives 20 minutes from me BTW) After not hearing from her by 8:30, I had begun tearing down the sets. She rolls in at 9PM! Drunk off her ass! And she was DRIVING! I was afraid if she lit up she’d set herself ablaze! But, I needed to shoot something new, and she still could smoke unbelievably, despite her condition, so we went with the shoot. Shooting wrapped at nearly 2AM. At least she'd sobered up by then for the drive home! Don’t get me wrong. There were an outstanding, small group of very good reliable models I could count on. DeeDee, Faylene, and, recently, Tabitha Rose to name a few. But, to find these professionals, I probably had to deal with several hundred flakes. With a family, 50+ hour a week job, and a part time job as a landlord, I couldn’t waste any more time on these flakes. I didn’t have the time to do this AND make the improvements to the productions and to the site itself. I’d have loved to continue to use the good models, but, as you know, everyone wants to see new ladies. There is good news to report. Mike, the fine fellow behind Smoke Signals, and I have reached a tentative deal on the sale of Visualsmoke. Details are still being worked out, and no particulars have been announced as to how or when the Visualsmoke material will appear on Smoke Signals. But, at some point, some of the great stuff we’ve produced over the years should be available there. Also, should I find a new source for models to shoot, I will also be able to contribute those materials to Smoke Signals as well. While I’m very happy with the excellent Open Mouth Inhaler's I’ve shot, I still haven’t shot my proverbial Dream Model yet, and I still want to desperately! So, I’ll still be looking for her, and, if I find her, you'll see her on Smoke Signals! BTW, there have been many, many subscribers to Visualsmoke over the years. A large number of them quietly viewed the material and continued to subscribe, year after year. As you know, unsolicited emails are taboo. I sent my thanks via the site to them, but I’m sending them here as well. They, along with the great group I was able to correspond with, made Visualsmoke possible. I bid you a sincere Thank You and a fond farewell. Scott
