I met this great girl a month ago, and yes I consider her a very heavy smoker, at least 2ppd of Marlboro 100's. We live in the midwest, well Chicago, and so far this winter has been pretty cold. The other day I needed a ride to work, my car was in the shop. Mind you now, I new my girlfriend had a car, but I never really saw or been in it. Well she spent the night so she could give me a ride in the morning. As always she has a cigarette lit before her feet hit the floor in the morning. We got ready and were walking outside to the parking lot, her smoking a freshly lit cigarette. I asked where her car was parked and she said follow her. When we got to the car, I thought should I trust my life to this piece of crap? It was an old old Cadilac, probably a 75 or 76. She told me not to mind the mess, she had not had a chance to clean it out lately. I opened the passenger door, and the entire floor was full of empty cig packages and cigarette butts. You could not even see the ashtray, it was so full and overflowing. As I was making room to sit she was already in with her cig dangling from her lips and she was pumping the hell out of the gas pedal. I asked why she was doing that, and she replied that if she didn't it would not start. She must have pumped that thing 30 times. Then she turned the key and it slowly cranked, it was about 15 degees that morning. All the time she was smoking hands free only stopping to ash in the full ashtray. She tried a few times and it was not starting. She took 3 long double drags off her cigarette, and snuffed it out in the ashtray, reached in her purse pulled out another cigarette and lit it. I could tell she was getting pissed because each drag was deeper and deeper. She continued to pump that gas pedal non stop and finally it acted like it was going to start. She told me while still holding her cig in her mouth that it was close and that she did not want to flood it by pumping it so much. A few more tries and it started but died out. She pumped it a number of times and then she looked at me and said she might have flooded it. Still dragging deeply she pumped it as hard as she could and it finally stated and kept running. Another cigarette lit and she said she had to let it warm up for a few minutes. I asked her if she has to go through this every morning, and she said yep pretty much, but I usually smoke at least 4 cigarettes before it starts. The next day I paid to have the interior of her car cleaned, there was so much nicotine on the windows you could hardly see out of them. It did not take long for her to fill the ashtray again, about 3 days.
