Upon entering the store I was relieved on two counts. First, the place was empty. Second, the person at the register was a woman. I’d feel much more comfortable about trying to buy cigarettes from a woman than a man. “Good morning,” the lady behind the register said. She was in her 40s I guessed. A little plump, but with a friendly and cute face. “Good morning,” I responded, “Where could I find coffee?” “Aisle 8,” she answered. I went to aisle 8 and looked for Folgers, the same brand of coffee that was used at the office. I finally found it and went to the check stand. I was feeling nervous. “Anything else?” she asked as she hit some buttons on her register. “Uh,” I mumbled. Here it was. I paused a moment, thinking about what the worst thing that could happen would be. She could say no, right? That was really the worst thing that could happen. It’s not like she’d call the police or anything. Or my mom. “I said anything else, Sweetie?” “Uh, yeah,” I said, building up nerve, “Five packs of Virginia Slims.” She gave me a quick look-over and then said, “Regular or menthol?” “Regular,” I said with relief. She was going to do it. She was going to sell me cigarettes. As she turned to the rack of cigarettes behind her I decided to press my luck a little. “I’m sorry,” I said apologetically, “I meant 6 packs.” I decided to buy a pack for myself. After all, Staci had said I could get anything I wanted as long as I got a receipt. She got the six packs and put them and the coffee into a paper bag with some matches, punched the keys on the register again, and gave me the total. I gave her the twenty and she gave me the change. “Thanks,” I said, trying not to sound as grateful as I was. “You’re welcome,” she smiled, “Have a nice day.” So far, I thought, this was turning out to be a very nice day. As I was walking across the street to the office I took one of the packs of Virginia Slims out of the bag and put it in my pocket. I got to the office and put the coffee away and brought the bag of cigarettes into Staci’s office. “Here are your Virginia Slims,” I said, taking them out of the bag and handing them to her. “Thanks Honey,” she said, taking the cigarettes, “You’re a life-saver.” She immediately opened one of the packs and took out a cigarette and lit up. She handed me the other four packs. I got a little rush holding the cigarettes in front of her. “Do me a favor, Hon,” she then paused for another drag, “Put three of these in my purse and keep one in you desk as a back-up.” “Back-up?” I asked. “Yeah. In case I run out again. My purse is in that filing cabinet.” I put three packs in her purse and headed back for my desk with the bag and remaining pack of Virginia Slims. “Joey,” she called, “Here’s my appointment calendar. I’ll be going out soon to check on a few new listings. It’ll be a couple of hours so this should keep you busy.” “Great,” I said, taking the book. “And when I get back we’ll go out for lunch.” This was great. I’d have a couple of hours to try smoking Virginia Slims, and then I’d get to go out for lunch with Staci. I went out to my desk and put the back-up pack she’d given me into the top middle drawer along with the three books of matches the lady had put in the bag. I then remembered the pack in my pocket and put it in the back of the same drawer. I then wrote ‘coffee/cigarettes’ on the receipt and got the lock-box out. I decided I’d organize the lock-box before filling in my appointment book. First I organized the cash by denomination, then put the receipts in order by date. Every once in a while I’d open up the desk drawer to look at the cigarettes. When I had the receipts in order I took out a piece of paper and started typing out the expenses. Staci came out of her office with her purse hung over her shoulder. “I’m off,” she said, stopping to come behind me to see what I was typing, “Whatchya doing now?” I explained, and she seemed quite impressed. “I’ve got some receipts from my business check book in my office. Do you think you could make up a separate list of those?” “Sure,” I answered. She told me where I could find the receipts and said she’d see me in a couple of hours. She went outside and shut the door, then popped back in. “I knew you’d be perfect for this job, Honey.” She then blew me a kiss and left. I finished typing up the list of receipts from the lock box and then went outside to make sure she had left. It was starting to get a little warm, so I turned on both air conditioners when I get back inside. When I got back to my desk I opened up the drawer and took out a pack of Virginia Slims and book of matches. At first I just held the pack, getting aroused as I got a feel for it. To this day I love the feel of a full pack of Virginia Slims. I then carefully unwrapped the cellophane and peeled pack the foil. I had noticed that Staci had made an effort on her pack to keep the square neat, with no foil sticking out of place. Mom, on the other hand, would just tear her packs open. Next I tapped out the cigarettes so that a few of the filters were sticking out at different lengths, just like they looked in the ads. And then I pulled one all the way out. It was the first time I’d actually held any cigarette, let alone a Virginia Slim. I noticed the words ‘Virginia Slims’ written in gold going down the length of the cigarette. I then placed the cigarette in my mouth, clenching it in my teeth just as I’d seen Staci do. My hands were shaking as I opened up the book of matches and pulled one out. I hadn’t had a lot of experience lighting matches, so it took a little while for me to get one lit. When I finally did, it went out as I lifted it to the end of the Virginia Slim clenched in my teeth. I tried again. After a few more tries, I got the second match lit and kept it going as I brought the flame to the end of the cigarette. Living with a smoker my whole life, I kind of had the sense of what to do, even though this was my first time trying a cigarette. I took small puffs, letting the small amount of smoke out of my mouth immediately, until I could see that it was lit. I was very hard at this point. I shook the match out and tossed it in the ashtray on my desk. Staci’s spent butt was still in there of course. I took the cigarette out of my mouth, then held it back to my lips for a puff. I blew the smoke out without inhaling and set the slim cigarette into the ashtray. I didn’t expect to enjoy the taste, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought. I watched the fresh cigarette in the ashtray for a while and picked it up again. I took a bigger puff this time and blew it out, still without inhaling. I knew I wasn’t really smoking, but was still aroused and content to do it this way for a while. I took another puff, then tapped the ash off in the ashtray. I was thinking about going into the bathroom to masturbate when the phone rang. I jumped up a little in my seat like I had just been busted. I regained myself, set the cigarette in the ashtray, and answered the phone. “Stuart Realty,” I said in a slightly shaken voice, “How may I help you?” When I heard a woman’s voice on the other end I picked up the cigarette and took a puff while she spoke. The hard-on that had started going down when the phone rang was starting to come back. She went on to explain that she wanted to sell her house. I took out one of the proper forms and began asking her the questions. I’d take puffs while she answered until my cigarette got down to the filter and I stubbed it out. I opened up Staci’s calendar and made an appointment for Staci to come out to her house at 11:00 the following morning. After I got off the phone I decided to get some coffee and try it with a cigarette. I got my second cigarette lit on the first try and took it, along with my mug, to refresh my coffee. When I got to my desk I took a sip and followed it right up with a puff. The cigarette or coffee didn’t seem any better, but I was enjoying myself none the less. I then started to copy down the appointments from Staci’s calendar to mine, taking puffs of Virginia Slims and sips of coffee while doing so. There weren’t a lot of appointments, so I was done with the cigarette about the same time I was done with the calendar. Instead of putting out the cigarette though, I lit a new one from the old one like Staci had done earlier. Taking my freshly lit Virginia Slim with me, I took Staci’s appointment book back to her office and put it on her desk. Then I sat in her chair and decided I would try to take a “real” puff of the cigarette. I tapped off the ash and took a puff. I kept the smoke in my mouth for a little bit, then breathed it into my lungs. Even though I took a very small puff, it didn’t keep me from coughing once the smoke hit my lungs. My eyes teared up as I coughed a very small amount of smoke from my mouth. “That wasn’t good,” I thought, wiping my eyes. I went back to my desk and took a small sip of coffee after sitting down. Getting back up on the horse, as it were, I took an even smaller puff than the first and braced myself. Knowing what to expect this time, I was able to keep from coughing when the smoke hit my throat. I held it in a while and then blew out a very small amount of smoke. The smoke looked fainter than that of my non-inhaled puffs. I took another sip of coffee and tried it again. By this time I was feeling a little dizzy, but didn’t care. Now I was really smoking! For my next puff, which was a little bigger than the last, I took a sip of coffee before blowing the smoke out. Now I was feeling a little nauseous, and still didn’t care. I got up, feeling even woozier, and took my half-smoked cigarette into the bathroom. I shut the door, undid my pants, and started stroking myself. The minute I took a puff, I came right into my hand. Now the woozy feeling started to bother me. I tossed the cigarette into toilet and fought the urge to throw up. After flushing, I decided I better lie down. I went into Staci’s office and lied down on the couch. The room was spinning, and even more-so when I closed my eyes. I opened them up and took deep breathes. After a while the spinning stopped, but I still felt nauseous. It took about 15 minutes before I felt better, but I waited another ten just in case. I went back to my desk and put the pack of Virginia Slims and matches away. I flushed the contents of my ashtray down the toilet and cleaned it out a little. Once the evidence of my smoking was gone I decided to clean up the office a little. I started with the coffee area, then emptied the ashtray on Staci’s desk. I gathered up the trash from all the wastepaper baskets and went outside to look for a trashcan. Then I found some cleaning stuff in the bathroom, so I cleaned the toilet and sink. I found that the bottom drawer of my filing cabinet was empty, so I decided the cleaning products, as well as the extra toilet paper should be stored there instead of just sitting on the bathroom floor. By the time I was finished with my cleaning, Staci had been gone for about an hour and a half. All the negative effects of my smoking were gone and I decided I wanted to have another one. I sat down at my desk and retrieved the Virginia Slims and matches. I lit one up, but didn’t exhale this time. I stood up to keep an eye out the window. About half-way through the cigarette I took a small inhale. Feeling a little dizzy, I smoked the rest without inhaling. Just as I was down to the filter, Staci pulled her car into the lot. I wasn’t really panicked as I calmly stubbed out the cigarette. Part of me wanted Staci to know I’d been smoking. With that said, however, I did wave my arms around a little to clear up the smoke. Soon Staci came in the front door. “Ready for lunch, Honey?” she chirped. “You bet,” I replied. And with that we were off to lunch. As far as I could tell she couldn’t tell I’d been smoking. I was glad, I guess, but still couldn’t wait for the first time I’d get to smoke with her.
