Dear Fellow Closet Star Trek Watchers,I was joking with Michael and Watcher about Star Trek references a couple of threads down, and the last message that I posted was a reference to how *Hot* I thought the new female Vulcan character was on the current Star Trek series, "Enterprise".
Then I turned on the TV to watch the Late, Late Show with Craig Kilbourne...and low and behold...Jolene Blalock, the actress that plays her, was a guest on the show, in her first talk show appearance.
I suspect that it will be her last for awhile.
The poor thing seemed to be not too terribly...well..."bright". She came off like a total bimbo, literally threw herself in a REALLY embarassing way at Craig Kilbourne, made a vaguely racist remark about a homeless guy who hit on her, and made a generally trashy and incoherent impression.
Clearly, she is an AMAZING actress, however, since her personality seems to be the antithesis of her character on the show.
Of course, she could have just been extremely nervous...or on drugs...or both.
I suspect that she smelled of smoke when she came out, because Craig Kilbourne (who makes no secret of the fact that he hates smoking) asked - seemingly out of the blue - if she got to take smoke breaks while she was in make up for the show.
She replied: "Yeah, it takes about two hours for them to get me made up, so they let me smoke a cigarette about half-way through." (She said it with all of the distracted foggy enthusiasm of a "burnout" high school kid...)
I was initially excited when I realized that I was going to get to watch an interview with her...stunned at how attractive she is out of character...titilated to learn that she is a smoker...but completely turned off by her bizzare, dim-witted, trampy behavior on the show...
Nothing gets me hotter than Intelligence...and nothing turns me off more than a dumb girl, no matter how physically attractive she is. (I'll bet she smokes Camel Lights, too.)
Oh well...so much for that fun daydream...
