Im a truck driver, and I see alot of things during the day, but yesterday I saw something that really caught my attention. While waiting for a freight train to pass I was stopped next to a car with a young woman driver, and I could see she was smoking. As I looked further into her car I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, I could not believe what I saw. The center counsel of the car had an area where one might place change, or other small items, but this one was being used as a very large ashtray, thats right the driver was using the counsel opening as an ashtray. What I saw was a mound of cigarette butts, the cars ashtray which was right above the counsel was also overflowing. The whole time we were stopped the woman driver chained about 7 cigs depositing the ashes and butts into the counsel area. I also noticed a small cardboard box on the passenger seat loaded with fresh cigarettes and a couple of lighters, she would take a new cig from the box each time. In the back seat I noticed several empty Newport 100 packs and quite a few empty carton boxes. She knew that I was watching her, and before the train had passed she leaned over and looked up at me with a fresh cig dangling from her lips, and she said excuse my car, but I smoke so much that I cant keep up with the mess, I yelled to her how much do u smoke a day and she replied about 3 packs, I could tell from her car that she was indeed a heavy smoker.
