As ESPN College Football Analyst Lee Corso often says, "Not so fast, my friend."You weren't the "topic of a thread". You were simply the person we asked about Jon & Kate. Jon & Kate are the "topic". You are merely the "askee" or something like that.
At any rate, we've watched the show since the beginning. There was never any mystery as to why they seemed to get along. Kate ran the show (the proverbial show, not just the TV show) and Jon stood by and allowed it. She was obviously calling all the shots, Jon simply went along.
It can also work the other way around. A controlling guy can marry a meek woman and treat her as if she were chattel. There are women who never have a dollar in their purse because the husband wants her to feel totally dependent on him.
Marriages like that often work out great. In fact, they can go on fine for years, but big problems generally ensue if the meek partner one day decides for some reason that he/she needs to stand-up to the controlling one. And this is exactly what happened to Jon & Kate. Jon apprently decided he doesn't want to be treated as less than equal and Kate wants to keep running the show without compromise.
Unless something changes, they will get divorced.
If he remarries, Jon will probably find a much meeker woman the second time around. One of two things will then ensue. He'll be happy in his new relationship and wonder why he didn't marry a more amicable partner in the first place, or he will discover that deep down inside he really yearns to be dominated. He may discover that he is truly a subserviant.
Damn, is Tampa starting to sound like Dr. Phil yet? How about *****Vesperae? Maybe Jerry Springer then?
In closing LL23, if you only have one daughter, you are NOT Jon. He has 5 of them, plus 3 sons. To make matters worse, it's possible the poor bastard may have only gotten laid twice.
I say that only with tongue in cheek, of course, because Katie impresses me as the type of woman who prefers to be drilled on a very regular basis. How much you wanna bet she orders him around in bed too :-)
