Yes, we're definitely all the same, but different.

One nice thing about VT is this -- you learn something new here almost every day. For example:

In the case of the observer, it would seem that there are 2 main sensory perceptions involved in watching a woman smoke in person:

1. The sight.
2. The smell.

That being a given, it would occur to us that there are 4 different and distinct scenarios that could ensue. The observer could:

A. Enjoy both the sight and the smell.
B. Dislike both the sight and the smell.
C. Enjoy the smell, but dislike the sight.
D. Enjoy the sight, but dislike the smell.

For any number of years, we figured that none of the 4 scenarios was indicative of mental instability. Then lo and behold, we came here yesterday and learned that -- because we fall into category D -- we need psychiatric help!

Lo all these years, we operated under the mistaken assumption that SF vids were "the answer" for us -- great sights, no odor. We thought we had died and gone to Heaven. Overnight, we were "out" of the bars and "into" the video catalogs.

Everthing was wonderful -- until yesterday, that is.

Now we have to either:

1. Stop watching
2. Start smoking and learn to like the smell or
3. Find a psychiatrist who can provide counseling

Where did we go wrong?

PS. This type of news harkens us back to the old days at *****Vesperae's SF Ethics Forum where guys would determine that their fascination with watching women smoke was not only "wrong", but was tied directly to Earth-shaking events including, but not limited to:

1. Genocide in Darfur
2. Global warming
3. Various failures of the US Olympic basketball team

It's a shame *****Vesperae shut the place down. I'm sure if the board was still operational, a poster somewhere would have come clean and admitted that his SF desires had ultimately led to both the sub-prime mortgage crisis and the failure of GM :-)
