Re : Smoking at outdoor restaurants -- nabucco
Iowa has a smoking ban which includes all outside patio areas. They even have banned smoking on all state property, so smoking anywhere on a state college campus is forbidden. The chain bar/restaurants like Chili's & Applebees are doing OK after the ban but the independent local neighborhood bars are hurting bad. The state legislature keeps telling us the ban is for our health but exempted the state run gaming houses and the Veterans hospitals, I guess the employees of these places must not count or are not human. It's total B.S., the anti's are making smokers 3rd class citizens and are working to pass even more restrictions in the near future. There is talk of banning smoking in your own home if there are children living there too and making it possible for landlords to evict tenants from rented housing who are smokers. Our state's motto is: "Our liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain". What a laugh!! Iowa has now legalized gay marriage so it looks like smokers are the new target group to look down on and scorn.
