I grew up in VA (near Fredericksburg)(Can't type the name of the state or the message gets flagged.. isn't that nice) and lived in the Arlington/Fairfax area for years.. I'm up on the Delaware/Maryland border..I think I read about communities needed permission from the state legislature before they could do a smoking ban.. Has probably saved thousands of businesses so far..
Delaware has had a ban for a while, Maryland started a few months ago.. My band played in Pennsylvania a few months ago.. Before the PA ban.. it was a pleasant surprise to see girls still smoking in bars..
I remember playing music in the bars in VA and it was a great vantage point to see the girls light up (besides being a bartender).. Here's a list of state bans
