It was noon, and Anita was running late. She had to make a stop at the store to buy some more cigarettes. She was going threw them like candy, and decided to just buy a carton. Anita pulls up to Starr’s Seafood Ship to meet Bethany. There was Bethany waiting in line. Anita noticed that her sister had gained some weight, and thought about how she had been dropping some in the last month. Anita didn’t care, but ran up, and gave her sis a hug. Bethany noticed a smell coming from Anita, and right as she was about to ask, the greeter asked where they wanted to sit. Bethany was about to answer, but Anita blurted out “Smoking”.

Anita and Bethany sat there waiting for their drinks and Anita lit up.
“Since when did you start smoking?” Bethany asked
“About a month ago.” “I was doing a story on it, and decided to try it out.” “I really, really enjoy it, and I hoped you wouldn’t mind” Anita said, as taking another drag.
Bethany pondered “Well, you are an adult, and I’m not Mom, so it’s not my place to tell you what to do.”
The two twins sat there talking about old times, and Anita smoked like a chimney. Bethany just watched her. Anita could tell that something was bothering her, and asked what was wrong. Bethany tried to deny it, but finally told her sister that her husband Christopher had left her, for another woman. She’s tried to hide it till the divorce happens, and she thanks God that they didn’t have any kids. The stress of keeping this a secret, and work, just seemed to be unbearable at times. Anita told her that she could stay with her for as long as she wanted to. Bethany was glad, and told her sister how much she loved her. Anita and Bethany got in the car, and headed back to Anita’s apartment. On the way home Anita had some more Marlboros Lights, and Bethany found herself enjoying the aroma.
